You Won't Believe What Happens When 1,000 Healthy Snacks Go Unclaimed—Donate NOW or Miss Out!

With the holiday season approaching, the community is coming together to support the youth served by Pathways to Success through an initiative called **Snacks for Success**. This healthy snack food drive is currently accepting donations until **Tuesday, December 30**, at several partner drop-off locations. The drive aims to alleviate food insecurity faced by many students involved in the Pathways to Success program, which operates within **Cape Henlopen, Milford, Seaford**, and **Sussex Tech** high schools.
Many students in the program often go without regular meals, struggling to find food for breakfast or dinner. It is not uncommon for them to approach program coordinators for a snack when hunger strikes. **Fay Blake**, the founder and executive director of Pathways to Success, emphasized the significance of this initiative, stating,
“We are so appreciative of this support. The youth we serve need these healthy snacks to keep their energy level up and to support their problem-solving and critical thinking skills.”
Items suggested for donation include a variety of healthy snacks that are both nutritious and easy to consume. These include **cereal bars, trail mix, snack-sized peanut butter, microwave macaroni and cheese, popcorn, chips and pretzels, toaster pastries**, and **tuna pouches with crackers**. By providing these options, the program aims to ensure that students have access to the nourishment they need to thrive academically and socially.
Community members who wish to contribute can drop off their donations at several convenient locations. **Tommy Taylor’s State Farm office**, located at **16583 Coastal Highway, Lewes**, will accept donations from **9 a.m. to 5 p.m.**, Monday through Friday, with the phone number **302-644-3276** for inquiries. Additionally, the **Sussex County Habitat for Humanity ReStore** at **18501 Stamper Drive, Lewes**, is open for donations from **10 a.m. to 5 p.m.**, Tuesday to Saturday, reachable at **302-855-1156**. Starting **Monday, December 1**, donations can also be made at **The Lodge at Historic Lewes**, located at **1008 Kings Highway, Lewes**, between **10 a.m. and 6 p.m.**, Monday through Saturday.
As the holiday season is often a time of giving, the **Snacks for Success** drive not only addresses the immediate needs of students but also fosters a sense of community involvement and support. It serves as a reminder of the importance of ensuring that no child goes hungry, especially during a time traditionally associated with abundance.
