A former Florida Gator has made waves in the NFL by breaking a record that many believed would stand the test of time. Following a 34-26 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, Tennessee Titans wide receiver Chimere Dike set the record for all-purpose yards by a rookie, totaling an impressive 2,371 yards this season.

This remarkable achievement surpasses the previous record held by Hall of Famer Tim Brown, who accumulated 2,317 all-purpose yards as a rookie with the Los Angeles Raiders in 1988. Entering the NFL as the Titans’ primary kick and punt returner, Dike had not returned a single kickoff during his time at Florida. Initially, Dike wasn't expected to be a major contributor to Tennessee’s offensive scheme. However, as the season progressed, he carved out a vital role, tying for the team lead with four receiving touchdowns and ranking third with 41 receptions and 341 yards.

In the 2025 NFL Draft, Dike made history as the first Gator selected when the Titans picked him with the 103rd overall pick in the fourth round. His collegiate career peaked in 2022 at Wisconsin, where he led the team with 47 receptions, 689 yards, and six receiving touchdowns.
