Discover the Shocking Health Secrets 10,000+ Locals Found at MOV Fitness Expo! Will You Miss Out?

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - The MOV Fitness Expo took place at the Wood County Resiliency Center this weekend, providing a valuable opportunity for residents to connect with fitness, health, and wellness resources from across the Mid-Ohio Valley.

Organizers of the expo emphasized the importance of showcasing local fitness options, bringing together various gyms, trainers, and wellness vendors. Attendees could explore nutrition and supplement booths, participate in health screenings, and gain insights from expert advice, live demonstrations, and guest speakers.

Event organizer Liz Strong highlighted the goal of the expo: “Just to make awareness of everything that we do have. There’s a lot that people don’t know about that you can go to just here locally to help us learn more about our bodies, learn about how we can become healthier and fitter and feeling better about ourselves.”

Healthcare representatives also took part in the expo. Deanna Shuler from Memorial Health System explained that the event was a crucial platform for demonstrating the health services available to the community. “We wanted to take an opportunity to just kind of demonstrate some of the services that we have for the fitness and wellness community. We’ve got some things displayed here for our physical therapy department as well as our wellness department,” Shuler noted.

The event is particularly beneficial for individuals just beginning their health and fitness journeys. Strong mentioned, “It is very important for people to see these resources because for people that are just getting into the health and fitness journey of their life. It’s a good way for them to come in and see what is available to them locally so that they know what gyms are in the area, what nutrition options they have.”

Sydney Weber with the Wood County Resiliency Center stressed that prioritizing health can have a profound impact on various aspects of life. “Your health is the centerpiece of everything that you do. It’s important to prioritize that. It’s important to take the time to go work out, to eat healthy, to, you know, find that community in the fitness world here as well,” Weber stated.

Furthermore, Shuler emphasized that even small, consistent changes can lead to the development of healthier habits. “Take a little bit every day, a little bit of movement, get a little few extra veggies in every day,” she advised. “Just small steps, but doing it consistently is the best way to get into a healthy routine.”

As the expo showcased the wealth of resources available locally, it served as a reminder that community initiatives like this can play a vital role in promoting health awareness and encouraging individuals to take control of their wellness.
