Multiple hospitals within the UF Health system have earned prestigious national recognition from Healthgrades, highlighting their commitment to excellence in patient care. This includes being named among America’s top 250 hospitals and achieving high rankings in specialized care across various medical fields.

The UF Health press release, issued on Tuesday, announced that UF Health Shands Hospital, UF Health Jacksonville, UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital, and UF Health Leesburg Hospital were all honored. Specifically, both UF Health Shands and UF Health Jacksonville made the list of the top 250 hospitals in the nation, while also being recognized as top 100 hospitals for critical care.

Healthgrades, a trusted resource for Americans seeking information about healthcare facilities and providers, assesses risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for more than 30 procedures and conditions across nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide. This rigorous evaluation process underscores the significance of the awards given to UF Health.

Among the accolades, UF Health Shands Hospital was celebrated for its outstanding performance in several areas, including outpatient joint replacement, outpatient orthopedic surgery, and stroke care. Meanwhile, UF Health Jacksonville distinguished itself as a top 100 hospital specifically for prostate surgery.

UF Health Leesburg Hospital further contributed to the system’s accolades by earning a spot on the list of the top 100 best hospitals for orthopedic surgery.
