You Won't Believe What Surprising Health Secrets Are Revealed at Whatley Services Open House This Saturday!

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - In an effort to enhance community health and accessibility to services, Whatley Health Services is hosting an open house this Saturday. This event invites residents to explore the facility’s new offerings and learn about significant changes designed to promote better health outcomes.

The open house will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at Whatley’s office located on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. Visitors will have the opportunity to engage with healthcare professionals, discover various services available, and even enter a raffle for a chance to win a 65-inch TV.

Among the highlights of the day, Whatley Health Services aims to showcase its expanded weekday hours, now from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday hours from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.. This extension is part of an initiative to make healthcare more accessible for the community, allowing individuals to seek medical attention at times that suit their schedules.

As noted by Aretha Thomas, the Director of Human Resources at Whatley, the goal is to create a "one stop shop" for various health needs. “We’re making it a one stop shop,” Thomas explained. “So essentially we not only have family medicine, we also have a podiatrist. We also offer dental services. And we have our very own pharmacy.”

This comprehensive approach not only simplifies access to healthcare services but also addresses a wide variety of community needs. With an in-house pharmacy, residents can fill prescriptions without having to travel to a separate location, a convenience that is especially vital in today's fast-paced world.

Whatley Health Services has been known for its commitment to improving health outcomes in west Alabama, and these new changes reflect a proactive stance in meeting the evolving needs of their patient base. The open house serves as a significant opportunity for residents to learn more about the services available, ensuring they are informed and empowered to take charge of their health.

Attending the event could be an excellent way for the community to not only gain valuable health information but also to foster a sense of connection with local healthcare providers. In a time when health disparities are often highlighted, initiatives like this aim to bridge gaps and elevate the overall wellness of residents in Tuscaloosa and its surrounding areas.

As Whatley Health Services prepares for this open house, it emphasizes the importance of community engagement and education in healthcare. By welcoming the public, they hope to inspire a proactive dialogue about health and wellness, encouraging individuals to take advantage of the resources available to them.

This weekend's event is not just an open house; it’s a step towards a healthier community. Residents are encouraged to attend, learn, and participate in a shared commitment to better health.
