You Won't Believe What Surprising Events The James Library Is Hiding This Spring!

The James Library & Center for the Arts in Norwell, Massachusetts, is set to launch its Spring 2026 Entertainment and Events Series, offering a diverse lineup of cultural programming aimed at enriching the South Shore community. This season features an impressive array of music, visual art, literary events, and family-oriented activities, scheduled to unfold from February through May.

Kicking off the series is the visual arts exhibition titled Just Passing Through, which will run from February 6 to March 14. This exhibit will showcase the compelling works of artists Lisa Daira Kennedy and Paula Villanova. Following this, another exhibition, What Remains Unsaid, featuring large-scale figurative pieces by Boston-based artist Robert P. "Bob" Brodesky, will be available for viewing from March 13 through April 25. Both exhibitions are free to the public and can be accessed during the library's operating hours, complete with opening receptions for attendees.

As part of the live performance offerings, the library will host My Funny Valentine: Jazz & Romance on February 14, featuring pianist Jeff Williams and his trio. On March 21, families can enjoy the Mama Steph Family Fun Concert, alongside a unique twist with the Family Fun Mini Golf event on February 17, where the library will transform into an indoor mini-golf course during school vacation week.

The literary scene will also be well-represented, highlighted by an author talk on February 26 with Norwell resident Daniel Osborn, who will discuss his book Levantine Vignettes. Additionally, starting February 20, the library will initiate a weekly Children’s Storytime, along with recurring creative programs like Crafternoon and Art Unplugged, which offers guided art-making workshops for participants aged 11 and up.

A ticketed evening event known as Sip & Sculpt will take place on March 21, led by Executive Director and sculptor Liz Helfer. This event combines hands-on art creation with a social atmosphere, allowing attendees to engage creatively while enjoying refreshments.
