You Won't Believe What Rock Entertainment Just Unveiled: A Shocking New Venue Next to the Practice Facility!

In an exciting development for Cleveland's entertainment landscape, Rock Entertainment Group, Bedrock, and Live Nation have partnered to create a new 6,200-seat outdoor amphitheater along the banks of the Cuyahoga River. Set to open in May 2028, this venue will be situated next to the under-construction Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center, signaling a significant investment in the region's cultural infrastructure.

This project marks the first large music venue to be built in Cleveland in two decades, indicating a renewed focus on live entertainment in the city. The amphitheater will be owned by Bedrock, commercialized by Rock Entertainment Group, and operated by Live Nation. According to sources, the design phase is already underway, with DLR Group serving as the lead architect, supported by Blueprint Studio, Live Nation’s in-house design team.

The amphitheater's design aims to accommodate national touring acts while maintaining an intimate artist-audience connection, a balance that has become increasingly important in the live music industry. This initiative is part of a broader trend in the entertainment sector, where venues are being developed to not only host concerts but also act as community hubs.

This project is a cornerstone of The Riverfront, Bedrock’s ambitious $3.5 billion plan to revitalize 35 acres of the Cleveland riverfront. Alongside the new amphitheater, plans for the area include the fully enclosed Performance Center, designed by Populous, which is expected to be operational next year, as well as a planned Cosm location by summer 2027, mixed-income housing, and a 3,000-foot public riverwalk. This investment reflects a billion-dollar commitment by Live Nation to develop mixed-use venues that enhance urban living and entertainment.

At the heart of this development is Dan Gilbert, the owner of Rock Entertainment Group, whose $7.5 billion real estate portfolio primarily targets Cleveland and Detroit. Dan Whalen, leading the project for Bedrock, has expressed enthusiasm about the amphitheater's potential to redefine Cleveland’s entertainment scene.

Established in 2021, Rock Entertainment Group manages various local teams including the Cleveland Cavaliers, the city's WNBA franchise set to debut in 2028, the Cleveland Monsters of the AHL, and the Cleveland Charge of the G League. The organization also oversees the Rocket Arena and the Rock Entertainment Sports Network, pointing to a robust strategy to integrate sports and entertainment in the region.

The amphitheater is expected to serve not just as a venue for concerts but as a critical component of the ongoing urban renewal efforts in Cleveland.
