You Won't Believe What Happened at the 23rd Samarkand Spring Art Show – Artists Reveal SHOCKING Secrets!

Art lovers in Santa Barbara have a unique opportunity to explore community creativity at the 23rd Annual Spring Art Show, hosted by Covenant Living at The Samarkand. This free event will take place from May 8 to May 11 at 2550 Treasure Drive, transforming the senior living community into a vibrant gallery showcasing original works from residents and employees alike.

This year's exhibit promises to be a feast for the senses, featuring an array of artistic mediums including watercolor and oil paintings, pencil sketches, photography, and sculpture. The collection is particularly notable as it includes works from artists at various stages of their creative journeys—ranging from seasoned professionals to first-time exhibitors. "All artwork on display will be making its Spring Art Show debut," organizers announced, highlighting the fresh talents within the community.

Linda Perez, the executive director at Covenant Living at The Samarkand, expressed her enthusiasm about the event, stating, “This show is one of the highlights of our year. It’s inspiring to see the creativity that lives within our community.” She also acknowledged the hard work of the resident art committee, which is dedicated to curating the exhibit and transforming the Mountain Room into a true gallery. “We love being able to share that experience with the larger Santa Barbara community,” Perez added.

The event kicks off with a reception on Friday, May 8, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., offering attendees a chance to meet the artists behind the works. Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be open to the public with the following hours: Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Monday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

For anyone interested in the arts and local culture, this showcase is not to be missed. It not only allows the community to appreciate artistic achievements but also promotes the invaluable contributions of senior residents and staff in the creative landscape of Santa Barbara.
