You Won't Believe What Former Skyhawks Stars Dumaresq & Lord Are Planning for the Upcoming Soccer Tournament!

EASTON, Mass. (April 30, 2026) – Stonehill College's women's soccer team is gearing up for a significant presence at The Soccer Tournament (TST), taking place in Cary, North Carolina, from May 27 through June 1. Senior Hannah Anselmo and sophomore Martha Lord will showcase their talents as part of Sportive FC, a team comprising both current players and alumni. The squad is led by former Skyhawks, Emmy Dumaresq '25 and Meghan Lord '25.
In a statement reflecting their enthusiasm, Dumaresq and Lord expressed, "We're incredibly honored and excited to represent Stonehill Women's Soccer on the global stage at this summer's TST. Having four of us—two current players and two alumni—come together for this is something truly special. It's bigger than just competing. It's about continuing to grow the game, supporting women's soccer, and leaving it better than we found it for those who come next—values we've carried with us from Stonehill. We want to inspire girls in sports to dream big, not only in athletics but in life after sports. Nothing is impossible with hard work and belief in yourself and your team."
The tournament, often dubbed the "Coachella of Soccer," features a $1 million, winner-take-all format for a 7v7 competition, sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation. With participation from top collegiate athletes, former professionals, and global soccer personalities, it's a significant event in the soccer calendar. Anselmo and Lord will be making their second consecutive appearance at TST, having played with Austin Rise FC in the previous year's tournament.
Sportive FC will compete in the women's bracket alongside 15 other teams from May 28 through June 1. Matches will be streamed on ESPN and YouTube TV, giving fans a chance to follow the action. To support their journey, fans can purchase merchandise from the team's store, with proceeds assisting in covering travel and tournament expenses. Additional donations can be made through the team's fundraising link.
Dumaresq and Lord also highlighted the unique collaboration between New England and the Midwest, stating, "We're also excited to represent New England as part of the first New England x Midwest collaboration team, united by what the two regions have in common—the cold."
As they prepare for this prestigious tournament, the commitment of these athletes extends beyond just the games. Dumaresq and Lord aim to uplift and inspire the next generation of female athletes, emphasizing the importance of dreams and perseverance in sports and life.
