You Won’t Believe What Borneo Motors Just Unveiled – The 2025 Dual Hero Project Will Change Everything!

Borneo Motors Singapore, the authorized distributor for Toyota in Singapore, has announced the launch of the 2025 edition of the "Dual Hero Project." This initiative is a collaboration among Global Team Toyota Athlete Toh Wei Soong, the Lasalle College of the Arts, and Toyota Singapore, united by a mission: to design functional and inclusive fashion that caters to individuals with diverse needs. The project aligns with Toyota's global "Start Your Impossible" initiative, which aims to uplift athletes across Asia who make a positive impact in their communities.

In this year's edition, Toh Wei Soong serves as the Industry Mentor, emphasizing his dual role as a para swimmer and an advocate for inclusive fashion. He brings valuable insights to the project, helping shape designs that address real-world challenges faced by individuals with disabilities.

Continuing its partnership with the Singapore Fashion Runway, this iteration of the Dual Hero Project seeks to deepen the efforts to support people with disabilities through meaningful, creative collaborations. For the 2025 program, students from Lasalle's Fashion Design and Textiles program have been tasked with designing apparel that considers inclusivity and everyday user needs. They engaged in a thorough examination of the dressing challenges faced by individuals with disabilities, focusing on how fashion can enhance comfort, independence, and dignity.

This year’s project has led to innovative design solutions such as the incorporation of magnetic clasps in place of buttons, the infusion of braille through hand embroidery, and silhouettes tailored for one-handed dressing. These practical applications are critical in ensuring that fashion is accessible for all, highlighting the importance of thoughtful design in everyday wear.

Additionally, a selected textile design from the student works will be transformed into a custom car wrap for the new Corolla Cross, which was launched in August 2025. The full collection, featuring these innovative designs along with the wrapped Corolla Cross, will be showcased at Toyota World located at 33 Leng Kee Road until December 14, 2025. This exhibition serves as a platform to promote awareness and understanding of the importance of inclusive fashion.

The Dual Hero Project is more than just a collaboration; it represents a significant step toward integrating inclusivity into fashion design.
