You Won't Believe What $60 Million Will Bring to Osage Beach—Year-Round Fun or a Huge Mistake?

Osage Beach is positioning itself as a burgeoning hub for family-friendly entertainment, fueled by over one billion dollars’ worth of developments set to transform the area into one of the top tourist destinations in the United States. Mayor Michael Harmison emphasizes the city’s ambitious plans, stating, “Within five miles of each other, we are going to have over one billion dollars’ worth of development. Both family-friendly, entertainment, tourist-driven, and we’re going to be one of the top tourist destinations in all of the United States.”
The first significant development is the Oasis at Lakeport, which features an amusement park expected to be completed by early fall. This project aims to cater to families looking for entertainment options and will contribute to the appeal of Osage Beach as a tourist destination. Additionally, a new Bass Pro Shop is slated to open in spring 2027, further enhancing the city’s appeal to outdoor enthusiasts and shoppers alike.
Another noteworthy project, the Mammoth Fieldhouse, is in the works just a few miles away from Oasis at Lakeport. This facility will be located along State Route KK, directly across from the Arrowhead Senior Living Facility. The Mammoth Fieldhouse aims to amalgamate various recreational activities, including mini golf, pickleball, and a top golf-style driving range, into a vibrant entertainment district.
Mayor Harmison believes that the Mammoth Fieldhouse, projected to cost approximately $60 million and complete by 2028, will provide year-round entertainment for both residents and visitors. This initiative aligns with the city’s broader strategy to boost its tourism industry while enhancing the quality of life for local residents. Harmison notes, “The project will provide year-round entertainment for residents while continuing to grow the city’s tourism industry.”
In addition to these developments, the city’s mall is undergoing a redevelopment that will introduce Anglers Outpost, which is specifically designed for anglers and boaters, further diversifying the leisure options available in Osage Beach.
With such ambitious projects on the horizon, Osage Beach is not just enhancing its appeal as a tourist destination but also creating a vibrant community environment for its residents. The convergence of family-friendly activities, retail opportunities, and outdoor recreation signals a robust investment in the future of this charming Missouri city.
