You Won't Believe This Animal Clinic Is Giving Away FREE Vaccines—But Only for 24 Hours!

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - In a heartwarming initiative to celebrate Valentine’s Day, the Oahu Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Oahu SPCA) is offering hundreds of free pet vaccines to local pet owners. This special campaign runs from February 13 through February 21 at their wellness and spay/neuter clinics located in Wahiawa.

The Oahu SPCA is distributing free DHPP vaccines for dogs and FVRCP vaccines for cats, both critical in protecting pets from common yet serious diseases. The vaccines have been generously donated by Petco Love, an animal welfare nonprofit committed to improving the lives of pets across the country.

According to Kristen Hudson, the senior director at Oahu SPCA, the organization has already successfully distributed 300 vaccines, and they are eager to “protect many more pets this Valentine’s week.” She emphasized the importance of responsible pet care, stating, “It is equally as important to ensure all of them are provided proper pet care, just as though you might provide the, you know, all the necessary care for your, you know, five-year-old child.”

The DHPP vaccine protects pets against parvovirus, distemper, and other serious illnesses, while the FVRCP vaccine does the same for cats, including panleukopenia. By providing these vaccines for free, Oahu SPCA aims to encourage pet owners to prioritize their pets' health and wellbeing, especially as Valentine’s Day—traditionally a time for love and care—approaches.

Pet owners interested in taking advantage of this offer can schedule an appointment by calling (808) 754-1519 or emailing [email protected]. The Oahu SPCA's mission is centered around saving the lives of homeless, abandoned, and abused animals, while also working to improve overall animal welfare across Hawaii.

As pet ownership rises in America, initiatives like this not only highlight the need for accessible veterinary care but also reflect a growing awareness of responsible pet ownership. By providing these essential vaccines at no charge, Oahu SPCA is taking important steps towards reducing the incidence of preventable diseases among pets, ensuring that furry companions live long and healthy lives.
