You Won't Believe How Tadeo Allende Transformed Inter Miami's Playoff Hopes—Find Out the Shocking Stats!

Tadeo Allende's impressive resurgence is reshaping the narrative around him this postseason. The 26-year-old Argentine right winger has silenced critics with an outstanding performance in the 2025 MLS Cup playoffs, where his contributions have propelled Inter Miami to the forefront of the league's championship battle. Following his first career hat-trick in a decisive 5-1 victory over New York City FC in the MLS Eastern Conference Championship, Allende has now tallied eight goals and one assist during this playoff run.
Should Allende find the back of the net against Vancouver in the upcoming MLS Cup, he will break the league record for most postseason goals in a single playoff tournament. The current record, set by Carlos Ruiz of the 2002 MLS Cup champion Los Angeles Galaxy, stands at eight goals. This potential milestone is particularly noteworthy for a player who faced intense scrutiny and calls for replacement earlier in the season.
Throughout the regular season, Allende netted 11 goals and provided one assist, amassing a total of 15 contributions across all competitions. These statistics paint a decent picture, but fans were often left frustrated by his performance during the spring and summer months. Allende’s athleticism provided the Herons with an essential attacking threat, yet missed opportunities, errant shots, and questionable decision-making often overshadowed his contributions. He was widely regarded as the most inconsistent player among the roster, with one podcast, Battered Herons, humorously noting that “he doesn’t have a bag of tricks, he has a fanny pack” and that his main skills are “run fast and shoot,” according to podcast host Danny Granada.
However, Allende began to find his footing in September, scoring four goals in the final seven matches of the regular season, leading to five wins, one loss, and one draw. His playoff performance began to elevate in critical moments, particularly during a must-win match against Nashville SC, where he scored twice and assisted in a 4-0 victory. This momentum carried into subsequent matches, including two goals in another 4-0 win against FC Cincinnati, culminating in his standout performance against New York City FC.
“To play this way and score these goals with the team playing a great game, it’s very satisfying,” Allende said after the Eastern Conference Championship, expressing his joy at achieving his first title and hat trick as a professional. “I worked very hard for this moment. I had tough times early, but now things are coming together at the best time.”
Allende’s future remains uncertain as he is currently on loan from Celta Vigo, a Spanish first-division club, through December. Though it is unclear if the loan agreement includes an option for purchase, reports indicate that Inter Miami has begun negotiations to retain Allende. Despite this, he remained noncommittal about his future when asked after Saturday’s match, stating, “I don’t know — a lot of things can happen. Right now, I just want to go celebrate and then see what happens. I have a final to play next weekend, and I’m focused on that.”
Additionally, Argentine powerhouse River Plate is also reportedly interested in signing Allende, who is valued at approximately €3 million according to Transfermarkt. While opinions on Allende’s value were polarized over the summer, one thing is clear: most Herons fans now hope to keep him in South Florida. Regardless of what the future holds, Allende has solidified his place in Inter Miami lore with his remarkable playoff run.
