Spotify's Shocking Move: 5 New Fitness Features You Didn't See Coming! Don't Miss Out!

Spotify, the audio streaming giant, is expanding its horizons by entering the fitness realm. With the launch of its new feature, Spotify Fitness, users can now access a range of guided workout experiences alongside their favorite music, podcasts, and audiobooks. This move aims to transform how people engage with the platform, making their time spent on Spotify more intentional and focused on well-being.
The Fitness feature provides both Free and Premium subscribers access to dozens of curated workout playlists and content from renowned wellness creators. Notable names include Yoga with Kassandra, Caitlin K’eli Yoga, Sweaty Studio, Chloe Ting Home Workouts, Pilates Body by Raven, Abi Mills Wellness, and Sophiereidfit. For those who subscribe to the Premium service in supported markets, Spotify has partnered with Peloton to offer over 1,400 ad-free, on-demand classes. These classes cater to various fitness activities, including strength training, cardio, yoga, meditation, and outdoor runs, all without the need for specialized equipment.
To access Fitness on Spotify, Premium subscribers can follow a straightforward process:
- Open the Spotify app on mobile, desktop, or a TV device.
- Search for "fitness" in the app.
- Open the Fitness hub or find it through the Browse All section.
- Explore classes, curated playlists, and sessions tailored to mood or fitness goals.
Spotify states that the majority of the new workout options will be available in English, with some classes offered in Spanish and German. Users also have the option to download selected classes for offline access, making it convenient to work out wherever they may be.
This timely launch is in response to existing habits among Spotify users. According to the company, nearly 70% of Premium subscribers engage in workouts on a monthly basis, and over 150 million fitness playlists are active globally. This highlights the significant role music already plays in fitness routines, making the integration of workouts a logical next step for the platform. By introducing classes and guided sessions, Spotify not only enhances the listening experience but also encourages users to discover new music during their exercise routines.
"For nearly two decades, Spotify has been the soundtrack to the world’s workouts," said Roman Wasenmüller, VP and Global Head of Podcasts at Spotify. "But listening was only the beginning. Today, we are expanding Spotify to become a true daily wellness companion. By bringing thousands of creators and partners like Peloton directly into our video and audio ecosystem, we are investing in a future where Spotify isn’t just where you spend your time—it’s where you go to build momentum, improve your well-being, and get more out of every day."
Spotify's foray into fitness signifies a pragmatic expansion of its platform, aligning with user habits and preferences. By seamlessly merging workouts, playlists, and guided classes within one app, Spotify not only provides users with more opportunities for music discovery but also reinforces engagement with the platform. This innovative approach underscores the growing trend of integrating wellness into daily routines, making Spotify a key player in the intersection of audio entertainment and personal health.
