Shocking Footage: Why This Gym-Goer Is Facing 5 Years After Attacking a Planet Fitness Employee!

A shocking incident unfolded at a Planet Fitness gym in Miami when a member, identified as 35-year-old Kiara Bryant, was caught on video jumping over the counter to assault an employee. The confrontation escalated after Bryant was reportedly seen in the gym without clothes, prompting staff to intervene. On December 12, police responded to a chaotic scene where Bryant was allegedly yelling in the parking lot and attempting to provoke a fight with bystanders.

According to the arrest report, a Planet Fitness employee had asked Bryant to lower her voice in the locker room. In a series of troubling interactions, the employee attempted to protect himself by pushing her away and threatening to call the police. However, Bryant persisted in following him throughout the gym, ultimately leaping over the front desk to reach him and delivering multiple punches to his face.

As a result of the attack, Bryant faces charges of misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct in an establishment. She has since been released on a $150 bond. The employee involved in the incident suffered a broken nose from the assault and has chosen to remain silent about the attack, as confirmed by his attorney, Alecsander Kohn. “She took things too far, brutally battered our client, and ultimately, left him in the hospital with a broken nose and severe emotional distress,” Kohn stated.

In the aftermath of the incident, Planet Fitness has cooperated fully with law enforcement. The gym has also canceled Bryant's membership, emphasizing their commitment to safety with a statement that reads: “We have zero tolerance for violence of any kind in our clubs. The franchise group worked closely with local police and has cancelled the member in question.”

The situation continues to unfold as Bryant’s release on bond raises questions about potential modifications to the charges. Kohn believes the severity of the employee's injuries may warrant a reevaluation of the legal implications. “Hopefully, through some strong advocacy, there will be a modification of the charges to reflect the severity of the injuries he sustained,” he expressed.

This incident highlights not only the challenges faced by gym employees in maintaining a safe fitness environment but also the importance of community and membership responsibility. Planet Fitness, known for its inclusive atmosphere and the slogan “Judgment Free Zone,” aims to create a supportive environment for individuals of all fitness levels. With their focus on affordability and accessibility, incidents like this challenge the very ethos of the gym’s mission.

Despite the shocking nature of this event, it serves as a reminder of the importance of safety and respect within public spaces. As the legal proceedings continue, the broader implications for gyms and fitness centers could lead to increased scrutiny over membership conduct and employee protection policies.
