Sheriff Hoss Mack's Shocking Endorsement: Why Chris Elliott's Re-election Could Change Everything!

In a significant political move ahead of the May 19 primary election, former Baldwin County Sheriff Huey “Hoss” Mack has publicly endorsed Alabama State Senator Chris Elliott (R-Josephine) in his bid for re-election to Senate District 32. This endorsement arrives as one of the more closely monitored Republican primary contests in Baldwin County.
In a video message, Mack, who retired in 2024 after nearly four decades in law enforcement, including 17 years as sheriff, called on voters to rally behind Elliott for another term representing Baldwin County in Montgomery. “I’m Sheriff Hoss Mack, asking you to join me in supporting Chris Elliott for a new term in the State Senate,” he stated. Mack highlighted Elliott’s commitment to the county, asserting, “We sent Chris to the Capitol with a mission to stand tall for Baldwin County.”
Mack pointed to Elliott’s track record of securing funding as a cornerstone for his endorsement. “He’s delivered every time by bringing home the funding to keep our roads, schools, and communities moving forward,” he emphasized. This assertion of Elliott being a “true conservative” who is “tough as nails” reflects Mack's belief that effective political change in Montgomery requires more than just pleasantries. In conclusion, Mack urged voters to support Elliott, framing him as “a real MAGA warrior for Baldwin County.”
Elliott, who first took office in 2018, is running for another term to represent District 32, which encompasses key communities including Fairhope, Daphne, Foley, Gulf Shores, and Orange Beach. As he campaigns for re-election, Elliott faces a challenge from fellow Republican Mike Vandenheuvel in the upcoming primary. The victor of this primary will advance to the general election scheduled for November.
Hoss Mack, now serving as executive director of the Alabama Sheriffs Association, carries significant clout in local politics, making his endorsement particularly noteworthy. His long-standing dedication to law enforcement and community service positions him as a respected figure among Baldwin County residents, and his backing of Elliott could sway undecided voters.
The upcoming election is crucial not only for Elliott but for the political landscape of Baldwin County as a whole. With a strong endorsement from a prominent local figure like Mack, Elliott's campaign may gain momentum, particularly among conservative voters who resonate with Mack's message of strong, decisive leadership. As the primary date approaches, the stakes are high for both candidates, and the outcome could influence the direction of local policies and community funding in the future.
