Five Lady Vols Shock the Soccer World: You Won't Believe Who Made All-Region Honors!

Kansas City, Mo. — The United Soccer Coaches have recognized a remarkable achievement for the University of Tennessee's women's soccer program, announcing that five players have earned NCAA Division I All-Southeast Region honors for their outstanding performances in the 2025 season. This is a historic milestone for the program, marking the most All-Region honorees in a single season and the highest total achieved by any Southeastern Conference (SEC) team this year.

Leading the accolades is senior defender Ally Brown, who earned a spot on the All-Southeast Region First Team. Brown's leadership as the team captain was pivotal; she played a crucial role in a defense that led the SEC and ranked 13th nationally with 13 shutouts, tying a program record. Over the course of the 2025 campaign, Brown logged an impressive 1,627 minutes and finished the season with two goals and four assists. Her prowess on and off the field earned her the title of SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year and a First Team All-SEC selection.

Senior midfielder Mac Midgley also shone brightly, receiving Second Team honors for the second consecutive season. Transitioning from her previous Fourth Team nod, Midgley contributed one goal and four assists in her senior year. She was instrumental in guiding the Lady Vols to a top-five ranking for much of the season, ultimately securing a No. 3 national seed in the NCAA Tournament. Her consistent performance earned her All-SEC Second Team recognition at the conclusion of the regular season.

Redshirt junior defender Leah Klurman made significant contributions to Tennessee's record-setting defense, which finished 11th nationally in goals against average at 0.632. Klurman started all 18 matches during the season, and her standout performance was highlighted by a long-range strike that earned a place in ESPN's SportsCenter Top 10 Plays. She concluded her season with one goal and two assists and was recognized as the No. 26 player in the country in TopDrawerSoccer.com's Midseason Top 100 rankings.

In goal, sophomore Cayden Norris established herself as a formidable presence, starting 18 matches and recording 46 saves along with 11 solo shutouts. Norris's goals-against average of 0.690 ranked second in the SEC and 27th nationally, while her 11 clean sheets were tied for first in the conference and fifth in the NCAA, showcasing her talent and consistency in crucial moments.

Lastly, redshirt senior midfielder Jenna Stayart rounded out the group with a Third Team All-Region selection. Stayart topped the Lady Vols with 14 points, comprising five goals and four assists during her fifth season with the program. Notably, she scored game-winning goals against both Georgia and Georgia Southern, further underscoring her impact on the team's success. Stayart was also recognized on the All-SEC Third Team and honored on the SEC Community Service Team this past fall.

This recognition underscores the collective effort and talent within the Tennessee women's soccer program. As these athletes receive well-deserved accolades, their achievements not only highlight individual excellence but also reflect the program's commitment to building a competitive and successful team dynamic.
