Geno Calgaro, a standout linebacker for the St. Francis football team, has made significant waves this season by earning a spot on the All-Northeast Conference first team. A graduate of Canon-McMillan High School, Calgaro's impressive performance garnered him a team-leading 105 tackles, with five games in which he recorded at least ten tackles. This remarkable achievement made him a key player for St. Francis as they navigated a competitive season.

Calgaro excelled statistically, leading the NEC with an average of 9.5 tackles per game and ranking second overall in total tackles. His defensive prowess was further highlighted by his fifth-place ranking in the league for tackles for a loss, with 10.5 such plays to his credit. By ranking 17th in the FCS for tackles per game, he joined an elite group of just 39 players nationwide who reached the century mark in tackles this season.

However, as St. Francis transitions to the Division III Presidents' Athletic Conference next year, Calgaro recently announced his decision to enter the transfer portal in January.
