Unlock 2024 with Free Mental Health Secrets—Miss Out and Regret It Forever!

As the holiday season approaches, many individuals begin to contemplate their plans for the upcoming year. New Year’s resolutions often revolve around self-improvement, focusing on better self-care, life enhancement, and overall happiness. If learning something new is on your resolution list, consider the valuable training options provided by the Eastern Shore Community Services Board’s (ESCSB) Office of Prevention Services.

The ESCSB’s Prevention Office offers several free training programs throughout the year, designed for anyone interested in enhancing their knowledge and skills. One standout program, Activate Your Wellness, teaches participants how to implement small, sustainable changes in their lives, leading to significant improvements in overall wellness. This training empowers individuals to take charge of their health and well-being.

Another crucial offering is the Adult Mental Health First Aid course. This training equips individuals with the skills to assist adults facing mental health or substance use challenges. Participants learn to identify, understand, and respond to the signs of these issues, enabling them to provide essential early support to those in need.

A youth-oriented version of this course is also available, specifically tailored to help adults assist young people experiencing mental health challenges. Additionally, the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) course focuses on the long-lasting effects of childhood trauma, aiming to foster supportive environments and positive outcomes for affected individuals.

In light of the ongoing opioid epidemic, the ESCSB also offers the REVIVE Opioid Overdose training program. This course teaches participants how to administer naloxone, a life-saving medication capable of reversing opioid overdoses. With escalating concerns about opioid misuse, this training is a critical resource for equipping community members with the skills to potentially save lives.

The SafeTalk course is another essential offering, focusing on recognizing signs of suicidal thoughts in individuals. This training emphasizes connecting those in crisis with community resources or suicide first aid providers, reinforcing the importance of mental health support in our communities.
