You Won't Believe What Melania Trump Did with Michigan’s FIRST White House Christmas Tree in 40 Years!

On November 24, First Lady Melania Trump welcomed this year’s official White House Christmas tree, delivered from the picturesque Korson’s Tree Farms in Sidney, Michigan. This marks a significant moment for the farm, which recently garnered national attention by winning the title of grand champion in the 2025 National Christmas Tree Association contest.
The tree was presented to Mrs. Trump by the farm's owners, Rex and Jessica Korson, in a charming horse-drawn carriage, enhancing the festive atmosphere of the event. Upon receiving the tree, Mrs. Trump expressed her delight, saying,
“It’s a beautiful tree,”
highlighting the pride and joy that such an occasion brings.
This year’s selection is particularly noteworthy as it is the first time since 1984 that a Michigan grower has provided the official White House Christmas tree. The last was Dutchman Tree Farms, based in Manton, Michigan. Following the announcement of their victory, Jessica Korson remarked to MLive,
“We had reserve champion once, and then to get grand champion is almost a dream come true for the farm.”
Previously, Korson’s Tree Farms had earned second reserve champion in the 2015 National Tree Contest, which afforded them the opportunity to send eight trees to the residence of then-Vice President Joe Biden. This year, however, they have reached new heights, underscoring the farm's dedication and expertise in cultivating high-quality Christmas trees.
Reflecting on their grand achievement, Jessica Korson expressed a hopeful sentiment about the future, stating,
“It’s kind of a once-in-a-lifetime chance, but we hope we can make the trip back again sometime.”
This aspiration not only illustrates the passion the Korsons have for their craft but also speaks to the pride that comes with representing Michigan on such a prestigious stage.
The holiday season is a time of joy and celebration, and the tradition of selecting a tree for the White House has been a cherished one, symbolizing the spirit of the season. As families across America prepare to celebrate, this year's official White House Christmas tree serves as a reminder of the artistry and dedication that goes into creating the perfect centerpiece for holiday festivities.
As we approach the holiday season, Korson’s Tree Farms stands as a testament to the hard work and commitment found in local farming communities. The recognition gained by the Corsons not only highlights their personal achievement but also shines a spotlight on the larger agricultural landscape of Michigan, which is home to many dedicated growers contributing to America’s holiday traditions.
