The Las Vegas Raiders recently made a notable decision in the 2026 NFL Draft, opting not to select a wide receiver in the early rounds. Instead, they chose to address this critical position later in the draft, picking former Oregon Ducks star Malik Benson in the sixth round. However, the Raiders might still pursue experienced free-agent receivers to strengthen their depth chart ahead of the upcoming season. Among the names circulating in trade talks is veteran wideout Stefon Diggs.

Diggs, a Maryland native and former Terrapin, has been linked to multiple teams, with the Baltimore Ravens being pointed out as an ideal landing spot. FanSided's Mark Powell noted, “The Ravens are linked to Stefon Diggs primarily because of where he’s from. But looking beyond the optics, there’s plenty of reason for Baltimore to have some interest in the 32-year-old.” He highlighted the Ravens' current receiving corps, which includes Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman, stating they are capable but may not be able to consistently win one-on-one matchups. Diggs, who is known for his ability to create separation, could effectively fill a role similar to that of DeAndre Hopkins, providing a significant boost to Baltimore's offense.

Raiders as a Top Contender for Diggs

The Raiders' potential interest in Diggs is also intensified by speculation surrounding their quarterback situation. If Las Vegas opts to start Kirk Cousins, who previously played with Diggs during their time with the Minnesota Vikings, it might make sense for the Raiders to add a receiver with whom Cousins has established chemistry. CBS Sports’ Zachary Pereles indicated that Diggs stands out as the best free-agent fit for the Raiders, given their current roster dynamics.

Last season, while playing for the New England Patriots, Diggs turned in an impressive performance, achieving an overall PFF grade of 87.5, which placed him sixth among 81 qualifying wide receivers. He finished the season with 85 receptions on 100 targets, totaling 1,013 yards and four touchdowns, while averaging 11.9 yards per reception. Notably, he accumulated 363 yards after the catch and dropped only two passes, showcasing his reliability and skill on the field.

Interestingly, Diggs isn’t the only former Patriot being speculated about in connection with the Raiders. The Athletic’s Robert Mays suggested that the Raiders should consider acquiring Kayshon Boutte, who may become available if the Patriots trade for A.J. Brown. Mays proposed that Las Vegas could pursue Boutte without sacrificing any of their Day 1 or Day 2 picks in the 2027 NFL Draft.
