Toni and Colin Wegenast have made it a priority to support local organizations and encourage their employees to do the same. “We wouldn’t be here without the community,” Toni stated, emphasizing the importance of giving back to those who support them.

The couple's commitment isn't just about financial donations; it's about engaging with the community. “We like to support the groups, even the ones that we’re not necessarily directly involved with,” Toni said, noting they receive numerous requests for donations every year. They strive to assist as many as possible to ensure local initiatives can thrive.

Colin echoed this sentiment, stating their appreciation for local shoppers directly influences their ability to give back. “We like to give back to the people that support us, too,” he added, underscoring the reciprocal relationship between a business and its patrons.

Beyond financial contributions, both Toni and Colin are active participants in various community organizations. Toni serves as the secretary of the Kiwanis Club of Jamestown, president of the Safe Shelter board, and is involved with the Jamestown Community Foundation and Make-A-Wish North Dakota. Colin is equally engaged, holding a position on the board of directors for the First Community Credit Union, participating in the Jamestown Mystics, and serving on the board of directors for the El Zagal Temple in Fargo.

The couple acknowledges the pivotal role their employees play in enabling their community involvement. “We got to give a shoutout to our employees because it allows Toni and I a lot of time to go be involved in these community groups that we're involved in,” Colin said. Toni added, “It sometimes can take up a lot of our time, and we wouldn’t be able to do that without the employees we have being here to take care of the store for us.”

This commitment to community service is deeply rooted in the company’s history. Toni recounts how important it was for LeRoy Wegenast, Colin’s father and the founder of the business, to be involved in the community. “He kind of instilled that in us as well,” she said, reinforcing the notion that when you’re a local business, it’s crucial to give back to the community that supports you.

The Lifestyle Appliance and Entertainment Center, which celebrates its 49th anniversary this summer, is now a third-generation family business, with their son, Noah, joining the operation.

Located at 918 17th St. SW, the Lifestyle Appliance and Entertainment Center offers a wide range of products including major kitchen appliances, washers and dryers, freezers, Big Green Egg grills, and Nordic hot tubs. They carry well-known brands such as Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Bosch, LG, GE, Frigidaire, Speed Queen, and Sharp.

Customer service is pivotal to their operations, with free delivery offered within a 75-mile radius. “Service after the sale is also a major part of our business,” Toni explained, highlighting their dedication to customer satisfaction. Colin added, “We have parts, too, for people that want to fix their own stuff. We can get parts pretty quick if we don’t have them.”

The business currently employs 10 people, which includes four full-time service technicians, two delivery personnel, and two sales staff.
