All Time Low's Boston Return: You Won't Believe What They Revealed About Their Sold-Out Show!

In a year filled with thrilling performances and new releases, the popular punk rock band All Time Low has truly made its mark. From surprise appearances with the internet-famous Savanna Bananas to captivating crowds at music festivals, their 2023 journey has been nothing short of exciting.
The band kicked off its much-anticipated world tour in October, quickly selling out multiple shows, including a much-coveted performance in Boston. Due to overwhelming demand, they decided to add a second show in both Boston and New York. Frontman Alex Gaskarth shared with MassLive that the energy and love from fans have been palpable since the tour's inception. “The tour’s been awesome. We’re playing songs from every era of All Time Low and it feels like the show has something for everyone, old fans and new,” he said. “The new songs have been a highlight — people are popping off in the pit.”
Since their formation in 2003, All Time Low has achieved significant commercial success, earning multiple gold and platinum-certified singles and albums. Known for their debut single “Dear Maria, Count Me In,” the band has also secured five top 10 entries on the Billboard 200 chart, including albums like “Nothing Personal” (2009) and “Last Young Renegade” (2017). Their latest album, “Everyone’s Talking,” was released on October 17 and serves as a follow-up to their earlier 2023 effort, “Tell Me I’m Alive.”
One standout track from this new album is “Sugar,” a collaboration with chart-topping singer JoJo, who hails from Foxborough. Gaskarth described this collaboration as “a long time coming.” He elaborated, “We’d known each other for years but never thought to do something together because we both creatively existed in different worlds. But when we wrote ‘Sugar,’ I knew she would be perfect for it, and thankfully she was down to be a part of it. She elevated the song so much.”
All Time Low is set to perform at MGM Music Hall Fenway in Boston on November 22 and November 23. Gaskarth expressed a special connection to Boston, describing it as “a second home” for the band due to their longstanding ties to the city. “Every time we rolled through it felt like a friends and family event, and that’s stuck with us over the years,” he added.
Notably, during their last visit to Boston, the band held a pop-up show at Cisco Brewers in Fenway, performing an intimate 45-minute acoustic set. This marked the venue’s first-ever pop-up show, showcasing fan favorites like “The Weather” and “Monsters.” They even debuted their new single “Oh No!” during this performance, which was officially released shortly after.
“We wanted to do something special for our Boston fans because they’ve always been so good to us,” Gaskarth remarked regarding the pop-up show. “We thought it was a cool way to hype the second show announcement by being there in person and sharing that moment with everyone.”
Earlier in the year, All Time Low also graced the Green Stage at Boston Calling, where Gaskarth joined pop-punk legend Avril Lavigne for a performance of their 2023 duet, “Fake As Hell.” Reflecting on their friendship, Gaskarth said, “Avril is the best. We became friends through our manager, and that grew into a lasting friendship which led to us deciding it was time to make something together.”
In addition to their solo performances, All Time Low has made exciting appearances alongside other artists. In August, they collaborated with the Savanna Bananas at Camden Yards in Baltimore for a rendition of “Dear Maria, Count Me In.” Shortly after, they joined the Jonas Brothers for a performance in Bristow, Virginia, as part of the “Jonas20: Greetings from Your Hometown Tour.” Gaskarth recalled, “They called us the day before the show and asked if we’d be down to make it happen. I think this many years down the line, it’s just fun to collaborate on things and work with people you’ve known for years but never had the chance to actually collaborate with.”
As All Time Low gears up for their upcoming performances in Boston, the excitement is palpable. The band's ability to connect with their fans, both old and new, continues to drive their success and make each show a unique experience. Whether they’re playing new tracks or beloved classics, Gaskarth and his bandmates remain committed to delivering a memorable experience that resonates deeply with their audience.
