2026 is shaping up to be an exhilarating year for K-pop enthusiasts as YG Entertainment reveals an exciting roster of releases and tours, featuring some of the most renowned groups from various generations. On March 3, the company's CEO and founder, Yang Hyun Suk, shared the details through a captivating YouTube video, giving fans a closer look at what to expect in the coming months.
A Year of New Music and Tours
The announcements begin with BABYMONSTER, who are set to release their third mini album, CHOOM, in early May. Following the success of their second mini album, WE GO UP, released in October 2025, Yang describes this new album as a "BABYMONSTER album you've never heard before," suggesting a fresh sound and an edge that fans will appreciate. He also mentioned that the title track, CHOOM, will be the first pre-album single, with another single to follow shortly thereafter.
Further enhancing the anticipation, Yang revealed that a full-length debut album by BABYMONSTER is also in the works, aiming for a release in October 2026. Additionally, fans can look forward to their first World Tour, set to kick off in June. This tour promises to be their biggest yet, with performances planned not only in North America but also in South America, Europe, and Australia, marking a significant expansion for the group.
Next in line is TREASURE, who are revamping their sound with an upcoming hip hop-centric album. Yang shared an amusing anecdote about how the members approached him with a desire to explore this new musical direction, saying, "One day the TREASURE members came to me and said, 'We'd like to do a hip hop album.' I was so surprised and was like, 'hip hop? All of a sudden?'" This album will not only highlight their versatility but also signal the start of the second act for the band. As they prepare for their upcoming World Tour, scheduled for early 2027, fans can also expect T5 activities to continue and the debut of HYUN.HA.YO under a new name.
In a major highlight, YG Entertainment is also celebrating the 20th anniversary of BIGBANG. As one of the most influential figures in K-pop history, fans have been eagerly awaiting news of their comeback. Although T.O.P has chosen to focus on solo projects, remaining members G-DRAGON, Daesung, and Taeyang are set to deliver a memorable performance at Coachella 2026, further intensifying the excitement surrounding their anniversary celebrations. Yang also hinted at a massive global tour, promising to delight fans with their greatest hits and fan favorites.
In addition to these exciting developments, Yang hinted at BLACKPINK’s upcoming 10-year anniversary, although no specific plans were detailed at the time of the video. YG Entertainment is also preparing to debut a new boy band in the fall of 2026 and is working on integrating two new members into the girl group NEXT MONSTER (working title), which currently includes members EVELLI and CHANYA. These additions signal a new chapter for the company as they prepare to introduce a new generation of artists to the K-pop scene.
With a lineup that includes world tours, anticipated comebacks, and fresh talent, 2026 is poised to be a landmark year for YG Entertainment and K-pop fans around the globe. The upcoming releases and performances promise unforgettable moments that will undoubtedly shape the future of the genre.
