You Won't Believe What This Unknown QB Did at the NFL Combine – Shocking Stats Inside!

Taylen Green, a quarterback prospect from Arkansas, made headlines during this year’s NFL Combine, showcasing remarkable athleticism that caught the attention of scouts and analysts alike. While the class of quarterbacks entering the draft lacks depth, Green's performance stood out as one of the best in Combine history for his position.

Green achieved a record-breaking 43.5-inch vertical jump and an impressive 11-foot-2 broad jump. These marks eclipsed the previous records set by Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson, who managed a 40-inch vertical and a 10-foot-9 broad jump earlier this year. In addition to these feats, Green clocked an astonishing 4.36 seconds in the 40-yard dash, making it the second-fastest time recorded by a quarterback, just shy of Michael Vick's 4.33 seconds from 2001.

Despite his outstanding Combine results, which led to comparisons with prominent athletes like Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf, Green stated clearly that he intends to remain a quarterback. During the broadcast, NFL Network analyst Charles Davis recounted his conversation with Green, who firmly responded, “Absolutely not. I’m a quarterback,” when asked if he had been approached about switching positions.

Green's collegiate career further bolsters his credentials. Last fall, he threw for 2,714 yards and 19 touchdowns, while also rushing for 777 yards and eight touchdowns. However, he was also noted for being turnover-prone, with 11 interceptions—a concern he shares with Richardson as they both look to carve out their paths in the NFL. Green's journey began at Boise State, where he played for three seasons, passing for 3,794 yards and 25 touchdowns against 15 interceptions. In total, he accumulated 1,026 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns during his time with the Broncos. His transition to Arkansas proved fruitful, as he accumulated 5,868 passing yards and 34 touchdowns, alongside 1,379 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns over two seasons.

Green is currently projected to be selected on Day Three of the draft, but he has already established himself as a player to watch. His size—standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 227 pounds—combined with his athletic feats positions him well for a potential NFL career. Interestingly, he isn't the only Arkansas player drawing attention; running back Mike Washington Jr. also impressed at the Combine with a 4.33-second 40-yard dash, along with a 39-inch vertical and a 10-foot-8 broad jump. Washington, who rushed for 1,070 yards and eight touchdowns in the previous season, is also projected to land in the second or third round of the draft.

As Green prepares for the upcoming draft, his impressive athletic performance at the NFL Combine demonstrates the potential he holds as a quarterback. Whether he can translate that potential into success on the field remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: Taylen Green is a name to keep an eye on as the draft approaches.
