Discover the Shocking Truth Behind Maternal Health: What You MUST Know Before Saturday's Event!

The Assembling Community and Clinical Stakeholders to Empower and Strengthen Families (ACCESS) Task Force is set to host its inaugural “Womb to World” Maternal Health Community Event on Saturday, February 21, at the Gainesville Empowerment Zone Family Center. This free event will take place from noon to 4 p.m. at 1250 NE 18th Ave., Bldg. 11, Gainesville.
Designed to promote maternal health and provide vital resources for families, attendees can expect an engaging experience featuring over 25 maternal health and family resource vendors. The event will include mini-information sessions, family-friendly activities such as face painting, games, raffles, and giveaways. Complimentary treats will also be offered, including snow cones and pizza.
One of the highlights of the event will be the presence of the UF Health OB/GYN Mobile Outreach Bus. This initiative, led by Dr. Adetola Louis-Jacques, a professor in the UF Health Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and member of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine program, has been providing essential mobile maternal health services throughout North Central Florida for over eight months. The outreach bus aims to increase accessibility to healthcare for expectant mothers and families in the community.
This community event not only offers essential resources but also fosters collaboration among healthcare providers, community organizations, and families. By bringing together various stakeholders, the ACCESS Task Force aims to empower families and strengthen community health initiatives.
In light of the ongoing discussions around maternal health in the United States, this event serves as a timely reminder of the importance of community support and accessible healthcare services for families. The need for comprehensive maternal health resources has become increasingly evident, especially in underserved areas where access to healthcare can be limited. Events like this one play a crucial role in addressing those gaps and ensuring that families receive the support they deserve.
For those interested in attending, this event represents an opportunity to learn, engage, and connect with valuable resources aimed at enhancing maternal and child health in the community. Participation is free, and all are welcome to join this celebration of family health and empowerment.
