Noli's Pizzeria Faces Closure—You Won't Believe How Many Fans Came to the Rescue!

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — For over a decade, Noli's Pizzeria has been a beloved fixture in the Blackstone neighborhood. However, owner Joel Marsh is now facing significant challenges due to ongoing streetcar construction in the area. After turning to social media for help, he was met with an overwhelming response from the community, showcasing the power of local support amidst adversity.

Marsh describes the past year and a half as a constant struggle. "Blackstone has always been kind of a difficult place, anyways, and I think the streetcar is going to be great when it is done, but we just have to suffer through two years," he said. The impact of construction has been severe, with Noli's Pizzeria experiencing a staggering $300,000 in lost revenue since the work began.

Frustrated by the lack of foot traffic and compounded by harsh winter weather, Marsh took to Facebook to share his concerns and to encourage the community to support local businesses by purchasing gift cards for future use. His heartfelt plea resonated deeply, resulting in an astonishing $25,000 in gift card sales within just two days. "It was an overwhelming and very humbling experience," he reflected.

This is not the first time Noli's Pizzeria has rallied community support. Earlier this year, they provided thousands of dollars in food to individuals facing food insecurity, a gesture that Marsh believes has fostered an even stronger bond with local residents. "It just goes to show that the community is amazing, and we are very grateful for that," he stated.

However, despite the outpouring of support, the uncertainty surrounding the business's future weighs heavily on Marsh. "I built all of these like with my dad, bare hands, all these tables, every surface, at the other restaurant and here we built. I mean, every recipe, everything you see is art to me," he shared, expressing the emotional toll of potentially losing a place he has poured his heart and soul into.

Marsh's message is clear: continue supporting all businesses along the streetcar route. As construction progresses, the survival of local establishments, like Noli's Pizzeria, hinges on community backing. The streetcar project may ultimately enhance the area, but the road to get there is fraught with challenges for small business owners.
