Rock Legend’s Shocking Claim: Did Trump Steal a Nazi Slogan? You Won't Believe the Fallout!

Rock legend Tom Morello took to social media on Monday evening to criticize former President Donald Trump and his administration for what he deemed alarming messaging. In a post on Instagram, Morello highlighted a troubling quote from the Trump administration that echoed a Nazi slogan: “One of ours, all of yours.” He accompanied this statement with a photo of himself playing guitar, prominently displaying an “(Expletive) Trump” sign on his back.
Morello, 61, explained the historical context of the phrase, noting it was coined when an SS officer was killed and the Nazis retaliated by murdering every male resident of the village in response. “If there are any MAGA left after THIS, you have made an irrevocable choice,” Morello added, emphasizing the weight of the phrase's origin.
This controversy arose during a press event on January 8, where U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem responded to questions from a podium featuring the slogan. This came just a day after the tragic shooting of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis by an ICE officer named Jonathan Ross.
Attempts by Billboard to obtain a comment from the White House and the Department of Homeland Security were met with silence. Morello is best known for his influential work with the bands Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2023. Throughout his career, Morello has been vocally opposed to Trump and the actions of ICE.
His criticism isn't new; back in May, Morello performed in front of a "F*** TRUMP" backdrop during a concert in Boston, where he encouraged the audience to embrace freedom despite the climate of fear. “Welcome to the last big event before they throw us all in jail,” he declared, unflinching in his criticism of the administration.
Morello pointed out that fellow music icon Bruce Springsteen also speaks out against Trump, stating, “Bruce, his whole life, he’s been about truth, justice, democracy, equality.” He further remarked, “And Trump is mad at him because Bruce draws a bigger audience. (Expletive) that guy!”
In July, Morello took his activism to the streets, joining anti-ICE protests in Los Angeles. He shared images from the protests on Instagram where he donned a baseball batting helmet, a “Destroy American Fascism” shirt, and held a sign that read “DEFEND L.A.” In one of the photos, he was surrounded by fellow protesters holding signs against ICE, all with fists raised in solidarity.
“Made some friends in Boyle Heights and DTLA yesterday #DefendLA #WhatBetterPlaceThanHereWhatBetterTimeThanNow,” he wrote, emphasizing the community's unity in the face of oppression. He also shared a video clip from the streets, claiming, “We got the cops to turn around and head back because they saw what is coming.” In another image from a concert, he is seen holding a guitar with a sign on its back that boldly reads “(Expletive) I.C.E.”
Morello's stance and activism resonate deeply in a country grappling with issues surrounding immigration, national security, and human rights. As public figures increasingly use their platforms to address political issues, Morello stands out as a musician committed not just to his art but to advocating for what he believes is right. This latest incident underscores the ongoing tensions between artistic expression and political dialogue in America.
