Melissa Gilbert's Shocking Move: Why She Deleted All Social Media After Husband's Arrest Warrant!

Melissa Gilbert, best known for her role in "Little House on the Prairie," has stepped away from social media amid serious allegations against her husband, Timothy Busfield. Busfield, 68, is currently facing an arrest warrant in New Mexico for multiple counts of child sex abuse, specifically two counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor and one count of child abuse.

The arrest warrant became public on Friday, revealing that the Albuquerque Police Department has accused Busfield of engaging in unlawful sexual conduct with two 11-year-old twins while directing the Fox show "The Cleaning Lady" from 2022 to 2025. During this time, it is alleged that he developed a close relationship with the boys, even asking them to call him "Uncle Tim" and tickling them, as detailed in the warrant.

In the wake of these allegations, Gilbert, 61, has removed her personal accounts from platforms like Instagram and Threads. Visitors to her former Instagram account are greeted with a message stating that the profile is no longer available. However, her official Instagram account for her lifestyle brand, Modern Prairie, remains active. Recently, it featured a video of Gilbert making a snow angel outside, accompanied by a motivational caption encouraging followers to "do what matters" and "make space for joy."

Busfield reportedly spoke to detectives over the phone in November 2025, admitting that it was "highly likely" he had physical contact with the boys but stating he did not remember them specifically. "I don’t remember those boys,” he said. Gilbert is said to have listened in on her husband’s call with investigators via speakerphone.

The situation has raised questions not only about Busfield’s alleged actions but also about the impact on Gilbert, who has been married to him since 2013. Just six months prior to the issuing of the arrest warrant, Gilbert had lauded their relationship on Jennie Garth’s podcast, "I Choose Me." She emphasized that their marriage is built on partnership and mutual respect, stating, “There are no decisions that are made singularly.”

In a more recent interview with People, Gilbert expressed the joy she and Busfield share as grandparents, describing the experience as “heavenly.” She noted that being grandparents allows them to relax and enjoy their time with their grandchildren without the pressures of parenting.

As of Monday morning, it remains unclear whether Busfield has been booked in connection with the charges. The unfolding events will likely have significant implications, not only for Gilbert and Busfield but also in the broader discussion about the safety and protection of children in environments involving public figures.

This situation is particularly concerning given the increasing scrutiny surrounding allegations of sexual misconduct in the entertainment industry. The potential consequences for Busfield, should the allegations be proven true, could be profound, impacting not only his career but also the lives of those involved.
